Rebuilding connection and community.

One small group table at a time.

Why we exist

Modern life has given us everything except what matters most: genuine human connection.

Adult friendship is hard. After university or that first job where everyone became family, making new friends somehow feels impossible. The apps feel cold. The spontaneous dinner invitations have disappeared.

At the same time, our hospitality venues - the beating hearts of our neighbourhoods - are struggling with empty tables and unpredictable revenue.

We saw these problems and realised the solution to both existed in the same opportunity.

What if venues could become empowered community creators? What if people seeking connection could discover those experiences? What if great food became the catalyst for lasting friendship?

That's Amicii.

Our approach

Hospitality First

Venues are partners, not service providers.

We empower them to create community while building sustainable businesses.

Choice Driven

You choose experiences that appeal to you.

We recommend based on your venue type, food type and age group preferences, but you make the final call.

Community over Consumption

We're building lasting relationships, not transactions.

No discounts. No deals. Just genuine connection around great food.

For Everyone

Social vibrancy has no age, ability or background limit.

25-65 and beyond - everyone belongs at an Amicii table.

Local Focus

Supporting our hospitality industry is central to our mission.

Every booking strengthens local community fabric.

Your Friends

The Amicii Team.

KAE PORTER
Founder

As someone who has experienced my fair share of major life changes throughout adulthood, I know first hand its impact on your social life and your sense of connection and belonging.

And as a life-long lover of exploring a city’s great restaurants and bars, I realised how much more difficult this was to achieve with a shrinking social network.

Don’t get me wrong - I love tech and how it can help us. But when it comes to social connection, the online world is definitely not for me - and I discovered it was the same for lots of others too.

So, since I wanted to reinstate my TimeOut subscription, I knew I had to find a solution that would allow me to enjoy all that hospitality has to offer in the best way possible - with a group of interesting people.

Amicii was born from curiosity and a love of connecting. I hope you get as much enjoyment from it as I intend to!

The road ahead

Today

Following on from our Northern Beaches Pilot, we’re launching Sydney's First Friendship Festival - 4 February, 2026.

Dozens of venues. One coordinated evening of connection.

Tomorrow

Expanding across Sydney, then to Melbourne, Brisbane and beyond.

The vision

Becoming the infrastructure layer for human connection in cities - where locals connect with locals, travelers find community and venues thrive as neighbourhood gathering places.

But we start small. We start local. We start with you.
