You'll be warmly greeted by venue staff who know you're part of the Friendship Festival. They'll guide you to your table where you'll meet between 4 and 8 other curious people just like you.

It might take a few minutes to settle in, but within minutes, you'll likely forget anyone was ever a stranger. Great venues create the atmosphere. Great food breaks the ice. And genuine curiosity does the rest.

People like you – curious, interesting people living in Sydney and tired of the same old social routines. Some will come solo. Some will bring a friend or partner. Some are new to the city. Others have lived here for years but want to expand beyond their usual circles.

What we know from our pilot is that the anticipation is almost always worse than the reality.

You already have something in common – you chose the same venue – and our filtering based on your age preferences means that you’re connecting with people who are likely to be in similar stages. You're not crashing a party – you’re joining an experience specifically designed for connection. The venue has created the right atmosphere. The table is small enough (4-8 people) that no one gets lost. And everyone there chose to show up, which means everyone wants this to work.

Will there be 30 seconds of "what do I say first?" energy? Probably. Does it pass quickly? Almost always.

Experiences range from around $30-80 depending on the venue and what's included (some are small plates and drinks, others are full chef-curated menus). You'll see the exact price before you book.

There's also a small 6% booking fee that goes to Amicii to keep the platform running.

Everything is pre-paid when you book, which means zero bill-splitting awkwardness at the end of the night. You know exactly what you're spending before you commit.

Absolutely! The Friendship Festival welcomes solo adventurers, couples, friends, and anyone in between.

Plenty of people bring their partner or a friend – not because they need moral support, but because they both want to expand their social world. And sometimes the best gift you can give your relationship is new stories and fresh perspectives from meeting interesting people together.

Life happens – we get it. Cancel up to 48 hours before your experience for a full refund. Less than 48 hours? Unfortunately, no refund. But we can organise to transfer your spot to someone else if you find a friend who wants to go – just email us at friends@amicii.io.

INope. This is about expanding your social world, not finding a date.

Sure, if two people genuinely connect and want to explore that, who are we to stop them?! But that's not the point. The point is meeting people outside your usual circles – different ages, different industries, different perspectives – and remembering what it feels like to have a conversation that actually energises you.

If you're specifically looking to date, there are plenty of great apps for that. This isn't one of them.

Venues partner with us because they understand their real purpose isn't just serving food – it’s creating community. Filling their tables on any night can be a challenge. We value our venue partners for the amazing hospitality they serve and our aim is to help keep these amazing institutions thriving by unlocking the ability for solo diners to enjoy what they offer as often as they want. When you win, we win and the venues win – which is just how we want it.

Each venue lists what they can accommodate (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc.). If you have specific allergies or requirements, you should add this information to your Amicii profile. When you book we automatically send this through to the venue – every time.

Our partner venues understand the needs of their customers and many embrace the widening variety of non-alcoholic options available on the market. If a venue’s Experience includes an alcoholic drink in the price, they will substitute that for a non-alcoholic drink of your choice within the price-range of the experience.

As we all know, you absolutely don't need to drink to have a great time.
